Detail First CTPL 1st Grade (Women's) Round 2 Preview
Date of Event Cricket Tasmania Premier League: Fri Oct 25, 2019 8:36PM

Round 2 action from the CTPL Women’s 1st Grade competition continues this weekend with some exciting match ups to look forward to.

First round losses for both Kingborough and Brighton see them come head to head to try and get their seasons up running at the Kingston Twin Ovals this weekend. Brighton, who are the competition newcomers will be looking to register both their first win of the season and for the club in the competition but will be a tough assignment against a Kingborough side hungry to bounce back after their first-round loss to New Town.

The other competition newcomer, Greater Northern Raiders will be looking to add another win to their season at Youngtown Memorial Park after a memorable first-round victory over Lindisfarne. The Raiders could prove to be quite a handful for New Town, who of which were first round victors, which will make for an exciting contest.

South Hobart Sandy Bay take on Glenorchy at Queenborough Oval, with the Sharks being full of confidence after a huge 77 run victory over University in Round One. Sharks captain Hollie Armitage will be once again looking to dominate with the bat as she did last weekend with her unbeaten 88 off 57 balls while Glenorchy will be looking to their star all-rounder in Samantha Roberts to try and match it with Armitage in the pursuit of back to back wins for Glenorchy.

After it’s first-round victory, Clarence will be looking to cause Lindisfarne their second loss in as many weeks when the two sides compete at Kangaroo Bay Oval. The Roos will be wanting another team performance like last weekend’s performance against North Hobart to get the chocolates.

After first round defeats, North Hobart and University will be looking to bounce back strongly as they play each other at Soldiers Memorial Oval. The Lions will be looking for a strong performance from skipper Katelyn Fryett, with the North Hobart side just looking for more contributions across the board with both bat and ball.
