Lindisfarne Cricket Club recently held their annual trophy presentation night to highlight the many achievements of the playing group across the 2018/19 season.
The strength of the club throughout the season was the First Grade Men's Team, who featured in the Grand Final for all three formats of the game - Twenty20, One Day (Kookaburra Cup) and Three Day Final. Whilst going down to North Hobart and South Hobart Sandy Bay respectively in their first two Grand final appearances, Lindisfarne put in an outstanding performance off the back of some incredible batting by Charlie Wakim and Ben McDermott to take out the Three Day Final by the end of Day Two. For their efforts with the bat throughout the season Mac Wright placed a close second in the Emerson Rodwell Medal count while Charlie Wakim was close behind in third position The club also featured heavily in the Men's Team of the Year with Mac Wright, Charlie Wakim and Nathan Ellis all being named, while Matthew Wilkie was named as the coach of the side.
Mac Wright took out the First Grade top batting average with 913 runs @ 70.23 to round out his outstanding season.
At club level, Kim Doran was awarded the John Peers Award for Service to the Club, while Stuart Steele claimed the President's Award. The Bev Shadwick Award was awarded to Georgia Redmayne for her performances with the bat across the 2018/19 season, and Mac Wright was the well deserved winner of the Bill Kingston Award. The Greg Clements Trophy for Clubman of the Year was awarded to Neil Grice and the award for Best Young Player was given to Tom McGann.
