Glenorchy CC Season review

The Glenorchy Cricket Club held their annual Noel Diprose Medal Presentation recently to celebrate the 2019/19 season and recognise outstanding individual and team performances.

 

In the Cricket Tasmania Premier League Glenorchy finished in eighth position in the CTPL Club Championship with 184 points, and also finished in eighth position in the Lord's Taverners Spirit of Cricket Award with an average of 6.07.  Nathan Matthews placed in the CTPL Men's Team of the Year after an outstanding season that saw him post 641 runs at an average of 58.27, while Farzan Raja and Matthews placed highly on the Emerson Rodwell Medal Leaderboard with 13 and 10 points to their names respectively.

 

At club level, Nathan Matthews claimed the Noel Diprose Medal for Best First Grade Player as Damien West received the Chris Broadby Medal for Best Lower Grades Player.  The Jan Butterworth Medal for Best Women's Player was awarded to Angela Burdon for her efforts throughout the season, the James Family Best Clubman Award was given to Graeme "Tiger" Mason, and Alex Rolle received the award for Outstanding Junior after featuring across all lower grades throughout the season.
