Detail First Men's & Women's Kookaburra Cup Grand Final Preview

South Hobart Sandy Bay, Lindisfarne, Kingborough and University of Tasmania are set to feature in the Detail First Kookaburra Cup Grand Final Double Header weekend at Blundstone Arena, Bellerive this Saturday and Sunday.

 

On Saturday, the Kingborough Knights will take on the University of Tasmania Cricket Club for the crown of 2018/19 Women’s Kookaburra Cup Premiers.

 

The Knight's go into Saturday's clash unbeaten in their 3 round matches while University lost just the one match in Round 2 against Clarence.

 

This is the second year of the Women's Kookaburra Cup with both sides new to the finals arena in the one-day format.

And on Sunday, the South Hobart Sandy Bay Sharks will take on the Lindisfarne Lightning.

 

The Sharks go into Sunday's clash unbeaten from their 6 round matches taking 8 of the possible 12 bonus points on offer, whilst the Lightning dropped just the one match in Round 5 against Clarence, however managed to pick up 7 of 12 bonus points.

 

This is the first time both sides will meet in a Kookaburra Cup Final.

 

Since the Kookaburra Cup's inception in 1970-71, the Sharks have been crowned premiers 7 times with the Lightning just the two.
