Brian C. Patterson

 

 

Brian Patterson was one of Tasmania’s best players during the 1960’s and one of the great all-rounders of the competition’s history.  After debuting with Sandy Bay as a 17 year-old in 1954, Brian went on to play 215 of his 265 matches with Sandy Bay and the remainder with Clarence, moving between the clubs four times.

 

 

Patterson's left-arm spin claimed 731 wickets at the miserly average of 15.06 and he had an impressive batting career of 9,609 runs at 35.07.

Brian captained Sandy Bay to their 1966 premiership and in his last season he was a member of Sandy Bay’s win in 1981 against South Hobart.

 

 

Brian Patterson also played 24 First-Class matches for Tasmania.
