Brian Richardson enjoyed a long and distinguished career representing North Hobart (63 games), Kingborough (102), University (40) and Glenorchy (64) across 24 seasons. The youngest from one of the most significant families in Tasmanian Cricket history, the right-hand batsman played 269 games, scoring 9,612 runs at 35.21.

 

Richardson’s most prolific season was with Kingborough in 1968/69, scoring 1001 runs at 66.73 including a career high score of 181* against North Hobart, as a result leading the competition batting averages and aggregate that season. Richardson was also a useful bowler claiming 306 wickets at 18.50.

 

Team success came for Richardson at each end of his career, winning a Premiership with North Hobart in 1953/54, and another with Glenorchy in 1973/74 when captain scoring 77 opening the batting in the Final.
