The third season of the CTPL Women’s competition consisted of fourteen
rounds made up of ten Twenty20 matches and four One-Day matches with all clubs
playing each other home and away. Finals were Twenty20 encounters.
Ladder positions were extremely tight in the first four, with North
Hobart claiming the minor premiership on 46 points, New Town second (44),
Kingborough third (43.5) and Lindisfarne fourth (42). Both semi-finals were
played at the TCA Ground back to back with Lindisfarne and Kingborough comfortable
Kingborough hosted the grand final at Kingston Twin Ovals, which drew a
large number of supporters of both sides. Kingborough won the toss and batted
first scoring 5/124. Kristy Coppleman top scored with 23 whilst Natalie Aulich
took two wickets for Lindisfarne. Lindisfarne’s reply started well reaching
1/78, but the loss of Jessica Wuetschner for 33 from 48 balls and Amanda Silver
for 29 off 44 balls ended hopes and Lindisfarne finished on 4/96 from 20 overs.
Sasha Moloney claimed 2/8 to go with 15 runs with the bat and was named player
of the final.
